Definito il “carro armato più protetto al mondo”, il tank Challenger 2 prodotto e in dotazione alle forze armate dell’esercito britannico non è mai stato distrutto in combattimento, a eccezione di un incidente accaduto in Iraq nel 2003. Oltre al deserto mediorientale, il Challenger 2 è stato impiegato in Kosovo e Bosnia ed Erzegovina. Nel 2023 il governo di Londra ha approvato la spedizione di 14 questi carri armati all’Ucraina.
