Maurice Oniango is a versatile award-winning Freelance Multimedia Journalist and Documentary Filmmaker. He has produced for highly rated Television programs such as Project Green, NTV Wild, Giving Nature a Voice and Tazama. He has also produced content for National Geographic, Al Jazeera (AJ+), Africa.com, 100 reporters, Journalists for Transparency (J4T) among others. Maurice has received extensive training on documentary making, photography and writing in-depth articles. The trainings and fellowship include; Investigative Journalism (RNTC- Netherlands), Documentary Filmmaking (MEDEVA), Investigating Wildlife Crime and Wildlife Photography (National Geographic), Financial Journalism (Bloomberg Media/Strathmore University), Investigate 101 (Africa Uncensored). He has a keen interest in conservation, corruption, health, education and human rights. He has won various awards including: Environmental Reporter of the year TV- AJEA 2015, Thomson Foundation Young Journalist of the Year (FPA-London), among others. Maurice is a National Geographic Explorer, Bloomberg Media Africa Fellow and an Africa Uncensored Fellow and he is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
